Beautiful sunrise sky…… lovely day with red flags out but water visibility is clearing up so maybe tomorrow. Winds are variable which brings the Vog over so there was barely a sunset. I saw two people out swimming at dusk right where the lady got attacked by the shark almost three weeks ago…… not smart! I miss my turtles!
Communing with nature….
I wish that was me paddling… but not yet. The back injection has helped a lot but I still can’t carry my board down to the water. My husband got me this nifty rolling thing that I can put my board on and just roll it down but I have not been able to try it out yet. I need a very calm day and lately there has been a lot of wind and now a swell is occurring. Hopefully one day soon I will get to try it out! At least I can swim without assistance. I had five turtles today and since there was a swell and water visibility was not great…. I had all five turtles all to myself! No tourist snorkelers! Yay!

Today I got a few of these photos! I’m getting pretty good st catching them. These photos are similar to some I have taken from my standup board in the past. I had five turtles today! It was a good workout too. I might have come up with an option for getting my board down to the water! Details coming……
Oh my gosh it’s been SO crowded at our beach with tourists! I guess with all the horrid weather on the mainland ….. everyone wants to come to Maui. I guess I can’t blame them. I got my back injection last Thursday and so far there is minimal improvement. I am walking better and have been able to back off the pain medication …. but paddling is not happening yet which I had hoped for. Even swimming still hurts….. and today I ended up with bad leg cramps in both legs which I then could barely move! This big turtle stayed with me as I kept filming and then it swam around and right under me! Do you think it sensed my dilemma? It sure seemed like it.
I had the honor of swimming with this lovely turtle. I had six of them today! What a beautiful day!
After another swell kept me out of the water…… it finally dropped yesterday and I was able to get out swimming. The wind was threatening but I went out anyway. I made it down to the coral and three turtles came up. I was so happy to see them! Suddenly the wind got pretty crazy and soon the turtles and I were getting tossed around. Then the water visibility got worse so I decided to swim back. As expected… the swim back was tough and it took forever. The wind stayed throughout the day. I am still struggling with my back/leg pain so still not able to get out Paddling but yesterday I finally was able to get my back injection. Hopefully this will help me. I sure hope so….
After weeks of inclement weather and poor ocean conditions….. today was nice! The day was sunny with lots of blue sky. The water visibility wasn’t great…. but I still had six lovely turtles! It felt great to swim again and see my turtles….. I hope it’s nice tomorrow!
It wasn’t raining….. and it wasn’t windy….. yet the water visibility down at the coral was minimal. It sure looked stormy, though, and got grayer by the hour! I had tbeee turtles ( that I could see…)… and a school of Ulua’s today. It was a great swim!
